Like the men’s program, the Comets’ women’s team finds itself in one of the most competitive regions in the country. Mesa Community College (Ariz.) remains the unanimous No. 1 team nationally, earning all 15 first-place votes with 375 points. Pima Community College (Ariz.) sits just ahead of Coconino at No. 11, while Southern Nevada debuts in the poll this week at No. 14, placing four Region 1 programs inside the top 14 nationally, including Mesa, Pima, Coconino, and Southern Nevada.

The ranking comes as the Comets prepare for a demanding stretch of the schedule, including the Embry-Riddle Arizona Invitational, Southern Showcase, Firestorm Classic, and the Highlander Invitational in Riverside, California. With Region 1 boasting four ranked teams, the path through the NJCAA Region 1 Championships in Tucson on October 30 figures to be as competitive as any region in the country — setting the stage for a high-stakes run toward the NJCAA National Championships in Huntsville, Alabama.
