Flagstaff, Ariz. – Coconino Community College freshman Cian Davis has been named the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC ) Runner of the Week after a top 10 performance at the 2024 Embry Riddle Arizona Invitational. Davis finished as the top junior college runner in the women’s 5K race with a time of 22:08, securing a ninth-place finish overall.
“Cian continues to impress us with her consistency and ability to rise to the occasion,” said CCC Athletic Director and Head Cross Country Coach Craig Hunt. “To finish as the top junior college runner in such a tough field is a big achievement, and we’re excited to see how she progresses as the season continues.”
Davis’s achievement at the Embry Riddle Invitational follows her strong start earlier in the season at the George Kyte Classic, where she led the CCC women’s team. With the ACCAC Runner of the Week honor now added to her list of successes, Davis is poised to be a crucial figure in the team’s success this year.
The Comets will look to build on Davis’s momentum as they prepare for the ACCAC Championships on September 27, 2024, at Glendale Heroes Park in Glendale, Arizona.
