Flagstaff, Ariz. – Coconino Community College kicked off its inaugural cross country season at the George Kyte Classic.
Northern Arizona University hosted 9 colleges and universities at the George Kyte invitational at Buffalo Park in Flagstaff, Arizona. In front of a home crowd CCC cross country toed the starting line for the very first time in school history. In total 6 comets competed in uniform for both the men’s and women’s team.
The women were led by freshman Shaelyn Honahni who placed 28th in the open section. CCC’s Niki McCabe was the second comet to cross the finish line in 52nd place. Jasmin Perez also competed but did not finish the race.
The comets compete next at the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference Championships at Freestone Park in Gilbert, Arizona on October 1st.
