Flagstaff, Ariz. – Coconino Community College kicked off its inaugural cross country season at the George Kyte Classic.
Northern Arizona University hosted 9 colleges and universities at the George Kyte invitational at Buffalo Park in Flagstaff, Arizona. In front of a home crowd CCC cross country toed the starting line for the very first time in school history. In total 6 comets competed in uniform for both the men’s and women’s team.
The men were led by freshman Mauricio Gonzalez who placed 67th in the open section. CCC’s Noah Rhoden was the second comet to cross the finish line in 72nd place. Levi Conery also competed but did not finish the race.
The comets compete next at the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference Championships at Freestone Park in Gilbert, Arizona on October 1st.
